#23 15-Apr-2025

Word explosion #22 explained you have over 200,000 English words to deal with — some 25,000 of which every day.

Among these over 25,00o every day, over 520 abilities whether you like it or not, with more getting added as time goes by.

If times gone by are anything to go by.

25,000 words daily is more than any word-user can know, let alone manage or deal with. That’s why we develop filters to survive this daily word explosion.

Now #23 makes clear it’s not just about you.

The contrary is true.

We’re all in the same boat together.

When I write we, it includes you, for that’s what my newsletter is about — you, words, word-use, and electric quotes.

Ready? Let’s go.

YOU

All of us, that is all of us word-users, are in the same boat together.

That means you too are currently in a war against nature.

If we win our war against nature, we’re lost.

All wars are insane, but when this insanest war since the beginning of words will be lost or won, nobody knows.

Well, I don’t know. If you do, let me know in the comments below.

WORDS

Like the children of every animal on our planet, we were also born wordless.

Our children enter the world of words only between the ages of 1 and 6 (average), and this only after they learn letters, words, and stories from from their parents, siblings, friends, preachers, teachers, and schools — like we did before them.

WORD-USE

While word-users use of course words, we also eat, drink, eliminate, procreate, communicate, act, and behave as the wordless animals eat, drink, eliminate, procreate, communicate, act, and behave.

Our common six senses too — feel, hear, see, touch, smell, taste — we share not with each other but with the Earth’s other 9 million species of wordless animals.

And our nervous system also relaxes when we’re in the presence of animals that have peace in their eyes and interest in us, as does the nervous system of the wordless animals.

THERE’S A DIFFERENCE

Being word-users, we of course also build schools, the only animal on Earth to do so, for the sole purpose of teaching our children letters, words, and stories.

None of the wordless animals behave like that. None of the wordless animals also build schools.

Begs the question, doesn’t it, what do the wordless know that we cannot learn at any of our schools?

I don’t have a clue.

Do you?

If so, thanks in advance for letting me know in the comments below.

ELECTRIC QUOTES

“To be cared for like you’ve never been cared for before, care for like you’ve never cared for before — starting with you.” – Yours truly

PS.
