HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN IT’S A WORD?
You know it’s a word:
- When you have a word for it.
- When you know it.
Everything you know is a word.
Side note:
The internet, your smartphone, and AI don’t know when it’s a word because they are net, phone, and artificial.
I know it’s a worrd when I use it to tell something to someone… with no clue whether the someone gives to that word the same meaning…
Marie-Claire, you’re absolutely right. However, there is a difference between words and meaning. To think that words possess meaning presupposes they have the organs required (to possess meaning). But words possess no organs.
… but then, how and when do we use words? for what are they useful to us??????????
The way I look at it, that’s rather like asking how and when do we use the Before Words and After Words, and what are the Before Words and the After Words useful to us. But I could be wrong.
