Everything is energy, including the 9 million animal species living on Earth that operate by this simple rule:
Eat or be eaten
That’s where the food chain gets in.
For us word-users — the only specie that uses words, 9 billion of us and counting — the food chain describes what eats what.
The other 9 million animal species — too many to count — continue to remain wordless for reasons only known to them. Words don’t mean a thing, but the rule is the same.
On top of the food chain
We, the word-users, are on top of the food chain.
Yet a few word-users wonder why we are exempt from the “eat or get eaten” rule.
They wonder if it’s because we have disposable thumbs and they have not? Because we walk bipedal, upright, and ready for breakfast on Mars? Or do we owe it to our naked skin, to the size of our brains, or to our technology, the world’s most advanced we’re told at school?
The wondering word-users are barking up the wrong tree.
In the beginning is the word
We’re on top of the food chain because we use words.
The wordless stubbornly refuse words for reasons only known to them.
Words allow us to develop the world’s most advanced technology, those in charge want you to believe.
We use the most advanced technology for medicine and war foremost. Those two are the first to benefit from technological advances.
The technological progress since the invention of words 13,750 years ago — when the age was stone, the Sahara green, and Northern Europe under 1-mile-thick ice — is both astounding and hallucinating.
Takeaway
As far as warfare is concerned, we’re currently in a war against nature.
If we win the word-users lose, meaning we’ll be extinct.
The wordless animals will party longer than we’ll know because by that time we’ll be dead and gone from the surface of the Earth. Our schools and machines will be taken over by the wordless plants.
