From newsletter #33 you either know or remember you are strong & weak.
Today, wordexplosion #34 takes a look not at what YOU are, but at what…
You DO RESPOND
Everything you know and have a word for is a word.
That explains why — since you spoke your first — you do respond to nothing but words.
100% of the time.
24 hours a day.
In the wordful world
Respond is not something word-users have to learn.
You’ve responded since you were a single cell that split itself in two.
Not only that but you haven’t stopped since.
Or you wouldn’t be here.
Of course it’s not just about you.
We’re all on the same boat together.
We do our best to respond to more words — between 7,000 to 20,000 every day, depending on various factors — than anyone can handle.
A lost battle from the start, a mission impossible if ever there was one.
That said, let’s leave the mission impossible behind.
There are three ways to respond
1) You can thank for more words than anyone can manage. 2) You can complain about the mission impossible. 3) Or you can become a word-master (as opposed to a word-user).
If you go for option 3 — and DO what it takes — you’ll see your words co-respond to what you’re about to say — in self-talk or aloud — more often than ever before.
Note that no response is also a response. Therefore, you cannot not respond. To not respond is impossible. When you don’t respond, then you have already responded, haven’t you?
Also note that you respond to two types of words. Words you hear from the world within you. And words you hear and see from the world without you.
The only ability that matters
The only ability that matters is your ability to respond.
When you improve your ability to respond, every other ability improves at the same time.
How the word-masters treat you is their power and how you respond is all up to you. No other word-user can respond for you.
Whether it’s fair that we respond to nothing but words is not a question of fairness. Simply stated, it’s what it is.
You might say words are a prison and be right. But even a prison can be a home when you have the key.
Or you might say words are a dream and you’d be definitely either wrong or right at the same time for it doesn’t make any difference.
- “In the beginning is the word.” – The word-masters
- “Using words to talk of words is like using a pencil to draw a picture of itself, on itself. Impossible.” – Patrick Rothfuss
- “What a word means, a sentence cannot say.” – Ludwig Wittgenstein
In the wordless world
In the wordless world, the energy, fire, wind, earth, water, rocks, plants, and the wordless animals respond only to their senses for self-evident reasons.
In the wordless world there are no words.
If intelligence has got anything to do with the ability to respond, then the intelligence of the energy, fire, air, earth, and water — each without a brain — is beyond the shadow of a doubt infinitely greater than the word-users.
Fact, the wordless have responded, and survived!, with their senses for the past 13.8 billion years (and possibly beyond).
We, brain equipped, have responded to words only since the invention of words 13,750 years ago.
13,750 years is a mere 0.0001% of the 13.8 billion years the energy has responded and survived.
As things stand, the word-users are not sure to survive for much longer.
- “Currently, man is waging war against nature. If he wins, he is lost”. – Hubert Reeves
WORD-USE
Use words as a word-user or a word-master.
The decision is all up to you.
Nobody else can decide it for you.

Are you looking for the simple method to change?
Then simply change how you look at and see words.
“Plus simple tu meurs” (any simpler you die) I say when I speak French words.
