To make your Unique Value Proposition (UVP) MASSIVELY stand out from the crowd, do the opposite of what most unique value propositions do.
Let’s face it, most unique value propositions (UVPs) — for example on LinkedIn, the best platform for professionals, B2B marketing, job seekers, and self-appointed experts — either don’t exist, or they don’t tell you much.
Therefore, no matter on which social media platform or where on your journey you are, the most important decision you will ever make is your UVP, also known as your Unique Value Proposition.
It’s the most important decision right now because you’ll never know when the time is nigh to fill your parting glass (for the song see the link in the comments below). In other words, don’t waste your precious energy and time making decisions that don’t matter.
But the risk of doing exactly that is high because many of us are amateurs at decision-making. We tend to weigh each decision equally, and by far the worst mistake in decision-making is making the same decisions over and over again. If that’s you, it’ll only wear you out in the long run. Therefore, ask yourself about the 1 (one) decision you can make now that can remove 1,001 decisions for you later. Why make 1,001 decisions when 1 (one) will do?
When you decide your UVP, many decisions are already made, maybe not 1,001, but more decisions you’ll ever know for you won’t be making them at all.
You can tell your UVP is the most important decision you’ll ever make because it sits on top of your pyramid or totem pole, whichever way you visualize the importance of the decisions you make.
The unique value proposition (UVP) that will make you MASSIVELY stand out from the crowd, will result from the 5 questions below:
- What are your family/friends/customers pain points?
- What are your family/friends/customers aspirations?
- 1-3 ways your UVP sets you apart from everyone else?
- What movement are you creating?
- What enemy do you rail against?
The above will have many answers for each question, but your UVP will have to be reduced to a single sentence or short paragraph.
Because your UVP is useless if you don’t remember it like a Post-It note on your forehead.
You cannot give it your all when you don’t give it your all, and knowing your UVP is the first step to get you started in ways that will make you MASSIVELY stand out from the crowd.
I can’t do your UVP for you, but I can help.
