#50 28-Oct-2025

I write & publish the wordexplosion every Tuesday, once a week, covering topics as diverse and colorful as the words you use. The best time to read it is now. After all, you don’t have time to rush today or do you?

In last week’s wordexplosion, we looked at YOU DO FEAR. In today’s wordexplosion #50, let’s take a look…

…at what you also do when your health, energy and time allow.

You DO FEEL

Which begs the question: “What is feel?”

Like everything you know, feel is a word. Were it anything different, how would you know it?

Different

A different feeling is your response to what you’re feeling now. Different is needed only when you’re not feeling happy now.

To improve what you’re feeling, I recommend you give different words, meditation, exercise, and a change in the media you consume a try.

Decision

Contrary to what some word-users believe, it’s not what you think, it’s what you feel that determines what you pursue and what you avoid…

… what endures and what gets abandoned, the results you get, and the meaning you attach to the circle game of words which when you call it a dream doesn’t makes any difference.

The worst thing you can do is make your important decisions over and over again.

Can you think of a decision more important than that?

“There is nothing quite so useless as doing with great efficiency what should not be done at all.” – Peter Drucker

Decision, part 2

What decides what you feel?

If it’s not you, you know what you must do.

If you don’t trust your feelings, what will?

Rock solid

Feeling is believing.

Therefore, what you feel must be rock solid, independent of what’s going on within you and without you, also known as circumstances (Circum’s dances).

What would you rather feel, happy or sad?

For either to happen, you must decide what you want to feel once and for all, ahead of time.

After that, you must keep your word and muster the courage it takes to follow through.

Next,, circumstances will continue to change but your feelings will not.

Happy or sad, focus on what you feel, then leave it to the sun to create the circumstances suitable to make it so.

What are you waiting for?

Feel vs logic

Between feelings and logic, feelings almost always win.

We buy on feelings and then justify with logic. That’s because what you feel doesn’t depend on what’s going on outside — or all 9 billion word-users would feel identical.

What you feel is your decision. What’s going on outside is not.

How we feel the warmth of the sun or the hug of a loved one, how we convert physical sensations into electrical messages in the nervous system, has won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2021.

I’m not saying feelings should have won the Nobel Prize or be the purpose of why you are born.

All I’m saying is give feelings a chance.

The fast track

For the fast track to the feeling you like best is feel it now.

Next, plan your next days not by what you must do but by what you must feel which is the feeling you like best.

After that, all that’s left to do is keep your word and avoid word-users that feel great by making others feel small.

Would you believe in hundreds of feelings?

If not, you better believe it now.

I’ve done the hard work for you. There are a 306 words invented by scribes — most of whom you’ll never meet for they are dead now — to de-scribe feelings.

Incredible but true. See the 306 for yourself here.

That said, don’t get distracted by 306. The only important feelings are good and bad. The other 304 are merely a part of the important two — good or bad.

Then get busy and prepare to be amazed.

Yours?

You may feel your feelings are yours. But they are not. On the contrary, feelings belong to everybody. Every word-user dead or alive has felt or will feel what you feel now.

If word-users felt happy 8000 years ago, they felt the same happy as you feel now.

Makes sense?

Feel is one the six common senses every word-user possesses, the others being see, hear, smell, touch, and taste.

Together, the six senses allow us to experience what’s going on within us and without us.

If not for our six senses, there is no way to experience anything. And as Albert Einstein has pointed out, experience is our only source of knowledge.

Think

Thinking about feelings is a poor substitute for feeling. If feelings were to be understood, they’d be called understandings.

When you walk barefoot and feel the sand or the cool moss under your feet, feel it, don’t think it.

The power of now

Every word-user has felt long before we knew it would later be a word.

Then as now, the only time when feelings are felt is now. You cannot feel yesterday or tomorrow. Even when you do, you’re feeling it now.

You never have to ask what you feel because you’re feeling it now. And you can change your feelings as often as you like, as often as your underwear or more often than that if you feel like it.

Simple vs complicated

Others forget what you did or said, but they remember what you made them feel. Simple enough? That said, feelings are usually portrayed and revered as complicated. But that doesn’t describe feelings. It merely describes how other word-users portray them.

To say feelings are simple or complicated is like saying colors come in black and white or music comes in gospel and blues.

In sports and wars, feeling good or bad depends on whose side you’re on which you won’t know until the final bullets fly or the final whistle blows.

Feeling is instant but thinking takes time. Why we spend more time thinking than feeling is a mystery to me. What is it to you?

Short vs long

According to PSYBLOG the feeling of fear is short-lived. Disgust and shame pass within 30 minutes. Anxiety lasts longer. Boredom passes in a couple of hours. The longest-lasting feeling is sadness which continues on for an average 120 hours.

Some days vs other days

Facts don’t change feelings. Only feelings can do that.

Some days, you wake up with optimism and possibility. You’re able to connect and work better. That might be because the outside world has handed you good news and opportunities.

On other days, feelings depend on what’s going on. Maybe because on these other days your chemistry is aligned differently.

PS

If you suffer from feeling depressed, you must seek professional help. It is hard to get out of depression on your own. Only your doctor can give you medical advice, for which this post is neither qualified nor designed.

IN THE WORDLESS WORLD

The wordless world is usually mistaken for nature.

That said, the wordless sun, energy, fire, air, earth, water, atoms, cells, plants, mountains, valleys, oceans, stars, moons and the wordless animals — to name a few that never spent a day at school — don’t feel for the self-evident reason that nature is void of words.

Yet everything in nature is accomplished. The oceans refuse no river yet they are not full.

WORD-USE

Words are what you respond to 7/24 and feel is no exception.
